Rich in tradition and folklore, the state of Jalisco has 350 kilometers of coastline, equivalent to 3.10% of the country’s total coastlines, plus 160,450 hectares of continental waters.

Approximately 84.3% of Jalisco’s catch is of freshwater origin, with brackish and saltwater products making up the remaining 15.6%.

 

According to data from the National Aquaculture and Fishing Commission (Conapesca), Jalisco produces some 62,000 tons of seafood a year.
