Mexico City, April 14, 2020.- After monitoring the development around COVID-19 for several weeks and weighing up the specific situation in Mexico, the World Seafood Industry Organizing Committee today announced that WSI 2020 will be postponed until August 25-27, 2021.
The first edition was originally planned to take place in September of this year; however, the presence and expansion of the Coronavirus, as well as the estimates of the Ministry of Health of the Government of Mexico, which anticipate that the preventive measures regarding the pandemic could extend until September of this year, have made us take this decision in order to focus our efforts in the 2021 edition.
The wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors, partners, employees, allies, suppliers and guests is our number one priority. Therefore, the first edition of World Seafood Industry will now take place from August 25 to 27, 2021. Postponing the event is the best course of action to ensure the safety of our community.
We value the support of all those involved in the event, from our partners and visitors to our suppliers, local authorities, Expo Guadalajara and, above all, our exhibitors in this important industry. Thank you for your understanding and support. This is a global challenge, but our community is strong. We look forward to seeing you at the first edition of World Seafood Industry as we continue to “reel together” in an ocean of opportunities.
